in association with Berengo Studio 1989 of Murano-Venice
The exhibition Glasstress, conceived and designed by Adriano Berengo, took its cue from the theme of this year’s Biennale, ‘the construction of new worlds’, to propose an event in which glass fully expressed its potential.
This was due mainly to the involvement of numerous renowned and emerging international artists, some of whom produced works especially for the exhibition. The exhibition turned the spotlights onto 45 works and installations in which glass plays a primary role.
The exhibition was intended as an opportunity to free glass of the usual clichés and offer a chance to expand its expressive confines. The participating artists then also enriched their own approach to glass thanks to the experience gained with other materials and expressive techniques, thus obtaining results of great originality and innovation.
